Ricardo’s EMLEG database provides a comprehensive summary of engine and vehicle emissions legislation by country or region and by market segment. It contains enough detail to give actual emissions limits with test cycle information but is brief enough to allow rapid navigation through this complex field. The scope of the database includes all reciprocating engine applications, and includes current and proposed future legislation applying to criteria pollutants, CO2 emissions and fuel economy as well as giving summaries of test procedures and fuel specifications (including reference fuels). EMLEG contains over 200 sections of legislation summaries covering over 50 countries and split by the following segments –
- Air quality
- Fuel economy
- Heavy-duty vehicles
- Motorcycle & Mopeds
- Non-road engines & vehicles
- Passenger cars and light commercial vehicles
- Stationary engines
As well as providing a concise summary of the legislation, a comprehensive list of references is given with, in most cases, links to the original documents.
An EMLEG subscription allows access to the online database, as well as an email helpline to allow users to make enquiries concerning the content. Subscribers also receive regular bulletins, by e-mail, highlighting recent changes to individual sections.
