As part of Ricardo’s xEV benchmarking activities, a 2012MY Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid was purchased and subjected to a full vehicle analysis. The battery module was dimensioned and the data collected was used to generate a representative 3D CAD model that contains:

  • Module case and support brackets
  • Busbars and protective covers
  • Wiring and connectors
  • Prismatic cells
  • Cell supports

Note: All CAD models have been independently developed, and without aid from the associated vehicle or battery manufacturers. Models have been developed through component teardown investigations and are intended to provide a detailed view of packaging and layout of components in a spatially correct CAD model. These models are not intended to facilitate hardware builds of the displayed modules and Ricardo neither implies nor provides warranty/ guarantees as to the functionality of such designs.
